Tim and I have been going over our song list the past couple of rehearsals. Out of 60 or 70 songs, there were some songs on the list that were either never mastered, or just never seemed to make the set list. So it’s time to re-evaluate.

Last night we made an effort to play all the songs that  never seem to make the stage so we could decide if they should stay or go.

Let’s make room for some new tunes

Private Party 2010

West of Ustick does “House Calls” . And it can actually be pretty affordable.No more than you might spend on a night out. You don’t need to have a big venue, or open your house to a bunch of people you don’t know. Private shows are available for the asking.

Imagine this scenario.

You invite a few friends over for wine and cheese (optionally Beer and pretzels) on a Saturday evening. Everyone brings a bottle of wine and $10 for the entertainment. West of Ustick come to your house around 7:00, and play music for a couple hours while you and your friends enjoy each others company and meet new friends.

Everyone had such a great time. You finnaly got to know your friend John’s sister Cathy, what a hoot. You are a fantastic host and all your friends admire you. Your Butt feels slimer and your hair is thicker Life is good.

A while back I wrote a poem. It was a meditation on a dark time in my childhood. Mother is a song where I explore my feelings of abandonment as an eight year old, through my adult perspective.

Another new song we are working on is a cover of Damien Rice’s Volcano

Hey look! Tim is a session player

Helping out Steve Bowes  (Harpers man) on his upcoming CD at the Tonic Room Studio last night. Rock on Tim.

CD Baby just passed a major milestone! $200,000,000 Paid out to CD Baby Artists Like Tim and Me.

They had a sale on download cards to celebrate. It was such a good deal I just had to order some for our 9 Lives CD.

I haven’t decided on a sales point but it will be cheaper than the physical CD

The first batch of silk screening is done. it was a first time for me and I think they came out great. We have multiple colors but only available in LG and XLG right now Emma likes to wear hers with a belt.

My 3 finger rolls need more practice. But this gives you an example of 3 distinctive ways I can use this instrument.

Headed to the studio. Time to get creative.

It’s been allot of fun this summer playing on patios and back yard parties. We made allot of friends but now it’s time to make some new music.

So we’re headed to the studio. we have 3 or 4 new songs that are ready to go. We will try to mix it up this time, taking advantage of the studio to experiment with new sounds and tools.

Like before I’ll be pinging you for song ideas. So keep that in mind.

I’ll keep you all posted on our progress, I’ll be keeping a project diary HERE And I hope to be posting images and early production recordings as we create new songs. Maybe even a Video or 2.
